Went to the trouble of creating Valentines for all of Monsta’s classmates and was told that they couldn’t be handed out because of the lollipop attached. Me, who doesn’t even approve of giving candy! I can’t believe I did that. Does anyone have an idea of something else (that is not food/candy) that I could use? It must be on a stick though.
Totally aggravated.
Ok, happy again!
Hi! Last yr we attached pencils and crazy straws (some kids got pencils some got straws – they were “valentines day” pencils w/ hearts on them and the straws were red and pink swirled so everything was valentines day themed) because of the no food thing. This year we are making heart shaped crayons. I found the idea on a mommy website and it is really easy (you just break up different color crayons and put them in heart molds and bake them then pop them out) so I figured it would be fun and something they could actually use. Can’t put them on a stick though.
I did the heart shaped crayons and gave the to the girl scouts on necklace strings this year. I did pencils last year.
I gave in this year, the kids begged to get the V-Day kits…with fun dip attached. Can’t believe I gave in!!! SUCKER! We are allowed to give them candy…but I know when my kids come home with their V-Day bag filled, I am the one throwing away a few pieces each night! LOL
I love the pencil/straw idea but I need something that will fit into a space that was made for a lollipop size. I’m LOVING the crayon idea….do you think I could find small molds and actually figure out how to put a stick on it? YIKES!
The kits sound fun and it is OK to cave every once in awhile – don’t worry, be happy!
ok, bought lollipop sticks and a Friskars squeeze punch in the shape of a heart. Monsta punched out all the hearts (he liked that!) and I hot glued them all onto the sticks. Attached them all to the cards. Looks a bit plain but maybe I will add a sticker to the hearts. This has been a real nightmare. I sent out the ones with real lollipops to some family and they were all destroyed in the mail. Terrible!
Have I emntioned how much I love this photo of David. Oh my…he really is cute!
What a beautiful blog! Im in love with your photos!!
Thanks Flo! That is really nice to hear.
