Back when I was in school, my Gram used to treat any grandchild that came home with a great report card. It was a special dinner at a restaurant. There were four of us grandkids and I remember a couple of us not being able to go on occasion. That was crushing. The dinners were special because of what they represented AND we got to be with just Gram.
I’m really happy that my Mom decided to carry on that tradition with my children. Monsta got a whole lot more than just dinner. He got a day in the city, topped off with seeing Spiderman. It was grand.
Seeing him experiencing these shows and city life in general is awesome to me. I had that opportunity and I am so glad that my kids will too.
Thanks Mom for a fabulous day and life long memories.
what an awesome tradition. my other friend does that too.
It really is. We looked forward to it so much. I think it even drove me to study harder at times ; )
That so cool you live so close to the city to be able to do that and close to family for that matter. I loved New York but my husband would be too closed in. He loves his wide open spaces. I still would love to take him there just to see it just once.
I love the pic of the three of you. It’s a keeper!!!!
Thanks Leaca! Did you used to live in NY? Alaska is so beautiful, maybe one day I will get to see it.
I was a nanny in New Jersey when I was 17 yoa. I would spend my weekends in the City and I loved it.
Well, whenever you decide to come visit….let me know. We can meet in the city and have some fun!
